I run into this problem frequently. I will be moving the robot freehand linear and then out of nowhere the robot just crashes into the table. I reset the robot and now I cant freehand linear at all, and when I freehand joint and click on the robot tool, all my coordinate arrows are at base of robot. When I try and jog those arrows at the base, the robot crashes. I am at a loss.

Make sure you don't have any snapping options on, which will be shown at the top of the viewport window and highlighted if enabled.
In your screenshot, you have "Jog Joint" selected which might be contributing to your problem. To do a freehand linear move like you want, make sure "Move and Rotate" is selected, and you have the correct tool, work object, and reference points set. -

i can’t move at all when I have move and rotate highlighted. When I try joint robot crashes into table.
I think it’s the snap I haven’t figured out how to turn it off. -
If you move the mouse towards the top of the window, you will see icons appear. I highlighted the snap options in my previous screenshot. You can also view the current snap level at the bottom of the RobotStudio window. Here I have center snap enabled.
